The digital writers in Space and Time

The figures are certainly biased in favor of France, due to the location of diccan's site.
The dates correspond to the first digital work of each author. Hence the actual production is more strongly growing than these figures would let think.

Up to the 1950's, we are in the "pre-digital". Then the growh is quite slow, with a strng take-off in the 1990's, certainly due to the large diffusion of microcmputers and the web.
The decreasing figures for the 2000's may have two explanations:
- a comparative loss of interest for a mode of expression which has its limits, and a migration of artists towards the multimedia and transmedia (which are dealt with in other parts of diccan),
- a lesser visibility of younger artists.
