Printing error
Entitled (we translate) "Printing error. Publish in the digital era" (Erreur d’impression. Publier à l’ère du numérique) this on line exposition runs from october 23, 2010, to march 2014 in the virtual space of Jeu de Paume.
Proposed by Alessandro Ludovico, it presents international artists and groups : Gregory Chatonsky, Benjamin Gaulon aka Recyclism, Olia Lialina, Julian Oliver et Danja Vasiliev, Jonathan Puckey, DuroSport Electronics, Do it yourself book scanner. The show aims to give light on the metamorphosis of printed media, and its consequences on information transmission and content preservation.
A new and powerful technology changes the classical rules of the system, and it is slow to respond. Paper is still considered as a singular, stable and perennial medium, open to new developments, but it has to cooperate with digital means. The virtual space is supported by Les Amis du Jeu de Paume.
