January 23, 2017: Digitalia: A National Juried Exhibition of Digital Art, Barrett Arts Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Juried by Bruce Wands.
Deadline for submission : Jan. 23, 2017. Exhibition Dates: March 18 – April 15, 2017. Opening Reception: March 18, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Digitalia is a national (diccan's note : USA national) juried exhibition of digitally-created art, including digital painting, computer-based illustration, digitally manipulated photography, fractals and algorithmic imagery, digital manipulations of traditionally-created art, digital montages and collages, mixed media with digital elements, artwork created with mobile devices and apps, and interactive installations. We are interested in work that complicate (implicitly or explicitly) perceived boundaries between “art” and “technology.”
We seek 2-D and 3-D artworks as well as small installations that can be accommodated in our atypical venue: the intimate galleries of our landmark 1840's Greek Revival townhouse. Historically used as domestic spaces, our galleries provide a dramatic, visually compelling presentation of contemporary and cutting-edge work. Artists should be prepared to provide their own display technologies and user interfaces, including flat screen monitors, keyboard, speakers or projectors.
