VR Arles Festival. Cinema and 360°creation

Festival of virtual reality, designed to discover cinema, documentary and artistic creation at 360°, the VR Arles Festival immerses the spectator into the heart of the world’s best productions in this new field. This year it will once again give voice to authors, directors and artists in virtual reality thanks to the support of BNP Paribas. For this second edition, the festival will be part of the official program of Les Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles.

From the 3rd of July to the 24th of September 2017, the convent of Saint-Césaire will be transformed into a diffusion platform of exchanges around VR (“Virtual Reality”).

This year, the program will be composed of twenty films, including a selection of premieres. The audience will be able to dive into fictional and documentary universes and live its own experience.  A jury made of personalities from cinema, photography and virtual reality will gather on the 4th and 5th of July to award the prize of 10 000€ to this year’s best film.

For the first edition of the festival the jury of the VR Arles Festival awarded the first prize to LoVR by Aaron Bradbury, as well as a special mention to DMZ by Hayoun Kwon. On his side, I, Philip de Pierre Zandrowicz won the audience award.
