Observatoire des pratiques de création de l'image numérique
Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles, Aix-en-Provence Ecole Supérieure d’Art, Arles IUT (University Technology Institute) and the Pôle Industries Culturelles & Patrimoines callfor participation in the Observatoire des pratiques de création de l’image numérique (Obs/IN, Observatory of digital images creation practices), which wil take place in Arles (France, near Marseille), on october 18 & 19, 2012, within the"Digital October" event supported by Arles Mayor and Provence Alpes-Côtes d’Azur Region (See our geographical guide).
During this second edition, the Observatoire will question image and immersion, through a series of communications and round tables, exhibisions and open to all peformances. It will pay honor to artists, engineers and theorists, among which Maurice Benayoun, Jérôme Delormas, Annick Bureaud, Jean Cristofol , Matthew McGinity, Grégory Chatonsky, Eric Viennot, Daniel Mestre, Dorothée Smith, Maxime Marion, Mâa Berriet, Adelin Schweitzer or Marion Tampon-Lajarriette. The symposium will focuss on three thematics : - traditional image and immersion, - immersion and interaction, - immersion and augmented reality. So it will study that relation, built and complex, between spectaor and image, the place of the subject (which is permanently questioned in immersive setups) and through it, the role and status of images. Between capture and distance, fascination and back standing, action and contemplation.
