Denise René gallery : Cinétique et numérique
This gallery remains faithful to his long tradition in kinetic art. Even though opening its walls to more and more digital works, they were avoiding, up to now, the "numérique" (French translation for digital). The show mixes purely mechanical devices and digital constructions, with more or less digitally controlled motors in the middle, so to say. To be noted:
- Elias Crespin, with 4Net Transparente (2015) goes a step further towards nearly invisible (if not immaterial...) forms,
- We discover a new artist in the field, Pascal Maiillard , who presents a cube segmented in several layers, each one rotating under digital control. In spite of the quite crude mechanism, the work succeeds in showing some variety in its behavior.
